Default Ballot Question 2: Comprehensive Permits of Low- or Moderate- Income Housing

The text of the question is here: http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/elepip10/pip102.htm

The sad thing here is I don't think there are many who really care about affordable housing. What we have are developers looking for short cuts on one side, and those who want to freeze their town in time on the other side. IMHO, give a man a good job and the housing soon takes care of itself.

I'd have no problems keeping the 40-B housing law in place if all the units built in these developments were of a low or moderate price. As it is now its just a scam with typical flim flam verbage that allows a builder to slam a large number of Urban type housing units into suburban settings and only a very few of them of a modest price, none of them of a low price and with the rest being top dollar or what the current market will bear. The towns people should be the final abiters of whats built in their town not developers that are just looking to maximize their profit by slamming as many houses as possible onto smaller than postage stamp sized lots.
