    Rich,

In the spirit of full disclosure and transparency, I would like to clarify your statement that the East Boston Social Center was getting use of our woods for free. In actuality, they were paying the Town of Westford $ 1.00, one dollar for exclusive use of the entire North side of Burges Pond for the months of July and August. No I have not erroneously left out any zeros.

Oh and the East Boston Social Center also continued I think for two seasons to lease the place to weekend groups. The Legends and the Madrigals were the most frequent users of our property. And although the Town of Westford owned the property, translates to paying all of the bills, the East Boston Social Center was permitted by the Beautiful People in Town to keep the rental fees they collected from these groups. Yes, these groups thought that they had exclusive use also like other groups that use our woods. But, I sort of had a hard time when approached by a bunch of adults in cloaks and carrying their swords telling me that I need to leave the place because they are playing Dungeons and Dragons. Seriously, who can take this kind of thing seriously? Only in Westford.

You mean I could charge people to set up booths on public property at town common to be mimes, puppeteers, face painters, and balloon makers AND call myself a non-profit without filing IRS paperwork, then dispose of the money with zero accountability to anyone?

Awesome. I think I'll petition the BoS to have a weekly Kiddie Carnival on the TC. Let's see if I can finagle the same preferential treatment.

Good luck with that. They don't have a counter argument on many of these issues, it doesnt matter. Their answer is rally the lynch mobs and bring them to any meeting they need them at.
The same mob that will likely be a this years town meeting where they will try and ram through spending $400,000 on the house next to town hall so they can change zoning and put a parking lot in. Get ready Westford.

    Hi West4,
I'd really love to hear some of the stories of the FPCU and the PCA. I love a good story of old Town politics and cronyism. You keep talking of this, but never spill the beans. You're really stirring up my curiosity.

Actually June, in the beginning there was Avis, a community organizer, from Nab. A kindhearted soul who felt that Westford was lacking in programs for the youth.
She got a couple of old timers and some blow ins and made arrangements to use the Roudenbush under an associate relation with the Lowell YWCA. Two years into the association the Lowell YWCA saw the monetary success of the Westford branch and wanted to extort a queen's ransom which led to the breakup between Westford and Lowell YWCA.

The RCC got started sometimes in the late 1970's and until the early 1990's provided community services to the town. Then the Wicked Witch of the East decided to establish her empire. And, the rest is history.

The PCA is Ms Harde's undertaking and from I understand it is very successful. I am not familiar with the PCA but for a fee I will be glad to a PI on them.

Please embellish on who is the Wicked Witch, what her empire consists of and what she gets out of it (money, power, ...)? Who facilitates this?

I will craft the story starting in 1994 when the Church sold the PCA to the town for $1 (and post when I get a chance). This was in exchange for being able to build the new Hall without the proper site plan, etc etc etc.

In a recent posts by Westford Patch it appears that this issue of parking and the location of the Farmer's Market has resurfaced. I think that the Market has been very successful (hats off to Gloria G for her work in managing this effort), but I do agree that it might be time to look again at it's location, with safety and parking issues being the focus.

There is a board of selectman meeting coming up this week -

I'm sure that they don't want to devote hours to this subject but if you have an opinion
it would be worthwhile to weigh in.

They are listed as Sustainable Westford. Let's hope the BOS has the backbone to do what is right, not what feels good.
