    Default Jerry Brown for President/Governor

California Governor Offers Plan on Pension Costs

LOS ANGELES — Gov. Jerry Brown offered a far-reaching proposal Thursday to reduce the cost to government of public pension programs, calling for an increase in the retirement age for new employees, higher contributions from workers to their own pensions and the elimination of what he termed abuses that have allowed retirees to inflate their pensions far beyond their annual salaries.
Mr. Brown made his proposal at a time when pension costs — exploding under the twin burdens of generous benefits passed by the Legislature during more prosperous times and the collapse of pension investments in the stock market — pose one of the greatest threats to California’s fiscal stability. The plan by Mr. Brown, though, extends beyond the state, covering local governments as well.

“I’ve laid out what I think is a minimum that any plan in California ought to meet,” Mr. Brown said at a press conference in Sacramento. “And the minimum protects the taxpayer while being fair to the employees.”

A Governor with a set of cojones. And the unions feel that Wisconsin and Ohio laws are tough.

The free lunch is over public servants. Westford's teachers got at least 8% and as high as 27.3% pay increases over the last 3 years, for showing up for work at least 170 days of 6 hour work days.
You can rest assured that Harkness, Keele and Culver do not have cojones. They will shout we need more money or the children will suffer.

Biologically Harkness and Culver cannot have cojones which leaves Keele with a physical set of cojones but no testosterone.

Of course Culver's daughter is employed by the Westford Schools. I have been told that a least two other members of the Westford school committee have relatives employed by the Westford school committee.

Since a list of employees of the Westford schools is not available, it is hard to verify the employment of relatives of school committee members.
Once upon a time the names, salaries and colleges and degrees of Westford professional employees were printed in either the Annual Town report or the School Committee's Budget book available at the J.V. Fletcher library.

Oh Well. So much for transparency in town government.

Have you been following the John Barranco saga at MEC?

Can you believe that various Westford Superintendents sat on the MEC Board of Directors and were not aware of the corruption?

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil apparently the way to conduct government business in Westford.
