    Default Leaves/Pine Needles etc Recycling

I have an excessive amount of pine needles and leaves and it appears that the only way to get rid of these is to pay $2 at Eric's, recycle them back into the lawn, or compost them. Well, my yard is too small to compost and I don't want to create a smell for me or my neighbors. I cannot recycle back into the lawn as there is too much stuff, and the $2 a bag adds up. I also do not have a truck to haul these bags.I know the town has provided a means of pickup with Acme but I don't see anything this year like that.

    Anyone have any cheap ideas?

    Default Fire

Sounds like a reasonable idea but my yard is too small and it would be just my luck to burn the house down

I pile up my leaves and have Red Wagon Landscape come and take them away. I get charged $100 but the pile is pretty large. Can't hurt to get a quote. They are in Chelmsford. 978-250-9866

Acme is doing it's town sponsored leaf collection again:

Acme Waste Systems will be collecting leaves this Saturday, December 3, 2011.

The cost is $1.25 per bag with a minimum charge of $20.00 per pick up.

Please call the Town Clerk’s office at 978-692-5515 to register.

Put your leaves, grass clippings and pine needles into paper leaf bags and have them at the curb by 7:00 AM on the collection day. Leaves will not be picked up if they are not in paper leaf bags.
You will pay Acme directly by attaching a check payable to Acme Waste Systems to one of your leaf bags on collection day.

    Default Acme Pick Up

    Hi,

Thank you very much for this update. I just got back from Eric's having spent $44 using 3 trips with my car. I sure wish I had known about this. Is there a mailing list or something I can get on to get notified in the future? I used to see such notices in the Eagle but I discontinued getting it a while back.
