The proposed lineup doesn't look very highbrow to me. Market Basket is hands-down the most budget-friendly grocery store for miles in any direction.

Five Guys is a burger joint. Panera? Ooohh...fancy!

I think that there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about Cornerstone. In particular, businesses seem to have a hard enough time staying up and running in the existing shopping centers in that area to begin with.

But...the beautiful people shopping center? That claim doesn't even make sense.

Whatever happened to the blue salamander gang that killed off the Walmart years ago??? I know a few of them are still around and involved in whatever the latest conservation trend happens to be. My guess is that the developer got smart and pitched the "upscale, highbrow" message, knowing that a lot of the activists that blocked Walmart were true hypocrites and really not concerned about the salamander population but about "undesireables" coming to Westford to shop. Now, the joke is on us.

    You may be right.

Beautiful or not, I'm just disappointed in the duplication. I was hoping for something new and different. This will be the fifth Market Basket-anchored strip mall within 15 minutes of my house.

Maybe they will turn the old Market Basket into a Turkey Farm!
5 Guys burgers is over rated, Panera was OK when they first appeared but (I'm guessing) cost cutting has it slowly sinking into mediocrity. The expansion and added traffic will just add to my reasons to avoid rt 110 and Boston Rd.

What was really needed in that area was 400 to 500 more 40B housing units so Westford can finally be called Billerica West. I could of said Billerica with Trees but the last few 40B developments just cut down all the trees to maximize profits by building on clear cut and to give the developments that Chelsea look thats been missing from town.

Actually, the town wanted the Cabrini Green look and feel. So much for the do-gooders taking a workable 25% set-aside under 40B and turning it into a 100% set-aside disaster in the making.

Clustering moderate income housing, at the grand entrance to the million dollar mansions of the elite, makes the whole area to look like the English countryside.

This mall will accomplish only one thing, which is put all of the mom and pop stores in Westford out of business. Family owned stores and restaurants will not be able to compete. Thanks Westford!

A Market Basket employee shared with me that Demoulas plans to keep BOTH facilities occupied, because they do not wish to have competition.

I wonder how long that will remain economically feasible.
