Thread: The next senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is..

Default The next senator from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is..

The Massachusetts US Senate election will be here before we know it -- 19 Jan. WBZ will air the first debut between the candidates (Coakley (D), Kennedy (I) and Brown (R)) live tonight at 7 PM at http://wbztv.com/.

My vote is for Brown. Does he have a legitimate shot?

    Who are you supporting?

Anyone but Coakley. Nothing personal, but I really don't want any single party to have 60 votes in the US Senate, whether I agree with that party or not. I'd rather have them be forced to debate, seek common ground and forge compromises.

Of course, this is Massachusetts, and the last Republic Senator we had was was Ed Brooke, elected in 1966.

Good Old Ed was a Republican in name only.

I am an admirer of the British Parliamentary form of government where weekly barbed exchanges occur between the PM and the opposition. I am totally impressed by the depth of knowledge and quick wit on both sides of the aisle.
One thing that comes out quite clear that the Labor, Green and Conservative parties have clear positions.
NO BIG TENT for the Brits.

I may take a pass on this election. Martha is definitely an hypocrite, Brown is a socially progressive Republican, and Kennedy has not displayed his positions (Get out Iraq and Afghanistan appears to be one of his Mantras)

All of them support the extermination of innocent life forms.

Once upon a time, abortion was considered murder.

Good thing Mary chose not have an abortion or the biggest commercial season of the year would not be celebrated.

I may take a pass on this election.

I'm too young to remember 1966..

I'm for Brown and agree with Rweir that no party should hold 60 seats

And if Mary would have kept her legs closed we wouldn't have ever had the opportunity to discuss the ramifications of her having an abortion or not!

It isn't Martha. She couldn't make a non political decision if her life depended on it. I'd like my next Senator to make decisions for me, the person who put him or her in office. It won't happen with Martha and I vote Democrat most of the time.

I must assume that you have never heard of virgin birth. The concept pf Virgin birth requires that Mary kept her legs closed.

Gosh, I guess I'm in a minority HERE.... Martha Coakley for sure. Brown is way to close minded. He says no to everything before its even been discussed. I want a SOCIAL reformist representing me, and Martha is the only person wearing that hat in this election.

Please read the article in the 6 Jan Boston Globe that covers Martha's incompetence in prosecuting child molester's.
Martha has never found a sexual pervert that she could not champion.
Martha, the social reformist, believes that everyone should be a member of the Lambda society.
