All my friends that ice fish only all seem to get called back for another beer! Looked like a very large ice fishing tournament on Freeman Pond in Chelmsford last weekend. Quite a turnout and some impressive shacks. I like fishing (fresh and salt water) but usually only when there are leaves on the trees. If there's Ice on the water there are usually skates on my feet. I always have wanted to build and Ice Boat but in this area getting conditions that are acceptable are quite rare. They sure look pretty good for it right now. Might be time to drag out a bed sheet this weekend and Low Rent it!

I too remember "morning recess", recess after lunch & "end of the day recess". Ah, the good old days. Now Westford students (grades 1-5) get around 20 minutes to eat & 15 minutes for recess. NO recess after 5th grade?!? I hear conflicting stories as the whether students get "recess" in middle school. Some say they go outside for 5 minutes. I remember having "recess" in middle school & it was more than 5 minutes. These kids need to be outside, getting fresh air & running around. They sit at desks almost all day, eat unhealthy school lunch, & we wonder why some kids are over weight.

Living near the beach at Forge has allowed my kids and me to really have fun during the summer. We were quite disappointed when they bulldozed the baseball field over by the Cameron Senior Center.. UGGGG!!

Stop bashing the seniors.
The Old Senior Center was grossly under utilized. Many seniors over 65 (Over 60%) work during the time the Senior Center is open. The statistics of potential users used to justify the remodeling and expansion of the Senior Center including everyone above 55.
Why a new "Senior Center". Well the highway department got its Taj Mahal. The water got its Taj Mahal. The Police station got its Taj Mahal. The School Committee built, expanded or remodeled 4 schools, certainly not as beautiful as the Taj Mahal, but the cost per square foot exceeds that of the Taj Mahal.

I predict that the next Taj Mahal will be two or more fire stations followed by DPW building and Town Hall and Library.

The expansion of the Senior center looks horrendous!!! Most definitely a Taj Mahal ! The reason they gave us for the expanded parking lot was that when the seniors take their annual trip to Foxwoods there was never enough parking for all the cars. SOOOO.. dig up a wonderful neighborhood ball park so you can have enough parking spaces for the senior trip that happens once a year..!!!?!?! Nice..real nice
